A week of my holiday that's been spent wisely x)

This week I spent everyday with my grandmother, learning how to cook. Yes, you read that right, NIKKI IS LEARNING HOW TO COOK HAHAHAHA! Oh my god, it sounds so funny, like it's not right omg ahahaha!

Last Friday, I learnt how to make red tortoise cakes (ang gu kueh), I added too much peanuts, too little red coloring and they just turned out fat. They were pink, shiny (due to a layer of oil on top) and soft - like newborn babies. HAHAHA!

On Tuesday, I made laksa for dinner!!!!!!!!!!!! I don't know why I like laksa so much when my stomach can't take coconut milk. I'll have the runs after it's digested :( But yaaaa, I made laksa hehehe. I made my aunt & uncle come to try it LOOOLLL. It turned out well, I added tons of prawns cause prawns. HAHAHA! I like prawns.

Wednesday, I made....... damn I can't remember. Oh yesssss, I made black pepper chicken chops! Whoop they turned out A-M-A-Z-I-N-G! Well actually I just marinated the meat. I ran all the way to the other side of my grandmother's house when we started cooking because the oil was popping like crazy and IT HURTS OKAY. Oh and I boiled carrots and broccoli. We also made popiah holder thingies omg IDK WHAT THEY ARE CALLED HAHAHA! They're crunchy and oily and nice... so so nice...

I don't understand how my grandmother can wake up so early everyday to go and buy ingredients to cook. IT IS TOO GODDAMN EARLY! I can't drag myself out of bed unless it's past 9am and she's up and running at 5am to cook for my grandfather. No no no I cannot be a housewife LOL

Yay and yesterday, we made the fillings for the popiah thingie and made tapioca cakes (both steamed and fried). All that happened in the morning, you can imagine just how sleepy and slow I was LOL. After they were done, I went to my aunt's house to make butter cookies. Hue they're delicious! The recipe said 2 dozen, what came out was at least 4 dozen. We decorated them with thousand balls and icing sugar yay sweetness overload.

It's Friday today and I'm too tired to do shit LOL omg I feel so old and lazy xD But 'twas a fun week huehuehue.
